Yes, Haley, I
do
talk to everyone who calls me (including you, remember?).
And I thought you were going to call me back when/if you got to the
mall, but that appears to have been a mistake compounded of my fever,
medication, poor sleep, and multiple conversation juggling.
Not to
mention that I only said I would
try
to meet you -- something I couldn't do because for the duration I
imagine you were likely to be at the candy store I was in an
optomitrist's office with Brian. Even
so, I had intended to call when I got home to see how dinner, etc.
went, but I was feeling worse and was too tired to stay up. Sorry.
And as for not talking during the following two days: I spent most of
Wednesday in bed, but was careful to keep both my phones on my
nightstand so that I wouldn't miss it if anyone tried to reach me --
which is how Brian Robertson talked to me and how my mother checked up
on me. Thursday I had to work, though I still felt pretty unwell,
and hence I went straight to bed as quickly as possible when I got back
home. If it matters, I had again planned on trying to reach Haley after
work yesterday, but when the time came I didn't think I could hold out
long enough to talk, and was asleep within five minutes of lying down.
Work yesterday would have been rough even had I been perfectly well. Sigh.
